Treaty, Self Governance & Honour of the Crown

Canada's Current Position (#1): Funding for [C-92] will not be less than what would be provided for services funded under the Final Settlement Agreement NCCC Opening Position: a) Canada must be obliged to recognize the right to jurisdiction. Crown responsibilities and ensure that any self-governance agreement signed with First Nations discharges Canada’s obligation to stop the discrimination and ensure it does not reoccur. b) Must recognize different pathways to jurisdiction. c) Canada cannot contract out of its human rights obligation. d) Canada must discharge its Honour of the Crown e) Principles did not include the Honour of the Crown, Intergenerational equity.
